It’s Almost Spring

Here we are in the no-man’s-land between winter and spring… in other words, March. Full of hope and frustration, March signifies College Basketball, Baseball Spring Season, and the end of winter. We hope for warmer weather and get frustrated when it doesn’t come fast enough.

This winter has had its share of snowy and very cold days, but it feels like everyone I know, including myself is just waiting for that day on the calendar that signals the official end of Winter and the 1st day of Spring! A changing of the seasons, a reminder that all seasons must come to an end. How many of us wish Spring can come already? We sit in between 14-degree nights and 50-degree days that we as New Yorkers consider warm.

The Bible speaks to us about seasons as well. Good seasons and bad ones, we have all experienced them. You’re in one now! You may be in a cold, bitter and dark season of your life. Dealing with the constant struggles of daily living, financial challenges, rebellious children, unemployment, a broken marriage, feeling stuck in life and not seeing any forward moving progress. I want to remind you that’s it’s just for a season. I believe the key to not giving up hope and to not live a life of frustration in your season of challenges is to know that God is always constant. Know that God is with us in every season of our life. When we face the unknown, we can trust that He is in control and working out every situation for our good even when we don’t see it. The Bible is clear about this;

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven: Ecclesiastes 3:1 KJV

Seasons are necessary for all of us, and I want to remind you that each season serves a purpose, that though you may not understand it at the moment, it will become clear when your “Spring Season” arrives. You will blossom like never before and it will bring forth growth and maturity in your walk in Christ. You will be able to say, “it was necessary for that to take place because I’m a better and different person today.”

So be encouraged today! Winter is almost gone; you’re coming out from the cold unbearable season that seemed to last forever to a season of harvest and blessings. Let this be your anthem this month; I will not quit, I will remain firm in Christ, and I will prosper!

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Psalm 1:3 KJV
