Get rid of it!

I would like to share something that’s been on my heart, and I want to bless you with it and encourage someone today!

What’s in your bag? We all have one. The difference between a bag and baggage is the weight of the load. A bag won’t slow you down, baggage will. As we walk down this journey called life, God calls us to fulfill our potential in Him, but some of us are carrying a lot of baggage. We got too much junk in the trunk, too many hidden secrets, stuff we haven’t let go of!!! The only bags we should be carrying should be light as we look to be a living testimony of God’s greatness in our lives!!! How do I do this you ask? I’ve heard people share, “if you only knew what I’ve been thru in this last year … Some of you have probably gained unwanted weight, got divorced, lost your job, are dealing with family strife, have lost your prayer life, are dealing with church hurt, got baby daddy issues, health issues … The list goes on and on! It probably feels like God has stretched you too much this year … Many of us struggle with self-inflicted labels, other peoples’ opinions, outdated situations, bad relationships, uncertainty, personal tragedies, guilt, trust issues. We go into every season of our lives saying we’re going to do this, do that, accomplish that, quit that bad habit, finally buy that, let go of that … but we don’t! We’ve collected over time the hurts and pains of our past and have buried them and have not allowed ourselves to deal with them and release them. It’s time you got rid of it!

Some people cannot go where God wants to take you! It is time you dropped some people off! The bag you still carry will not allow you to see life through a wide lens! You’ll always see things thru a narrow, small minded lens if you neglect yourself and the person you’re capable of becoming. Some of us have been stuck in the same place for too long holding on to excessive unnecessary baggage and it leaves us with no space for God.

If life has got you feeling exhausted and vulnerable, give God some room to do what He does best!

Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

I pray you rise up and surrender to God those things, feelings, thoughts and people that are weighing you down.
