Living Beyond Ourselves

I was pondering this morning as I looked over my schedule for the day and thought of how we get so caught up in our own circumstances & situations we face sometimes that we miss opportunities to be able to be a blessing to others that may also be in need and probably worse than us. Our love for God should compel us to serve others regardless of what is going on in our lives. Sometimes that requires for us to look beyond ourselves, no matter how busy we may be and reach out to someone who may be in need. I proceeded this morning to drop off my children at their school and went to the gym for my morning exercise. I received a message on Facebook from someone who I had not had any contact with in many years, she wrote about a time many years ago where she heard me preach and how it blessed her life. Years later, she shared her heart and need for prayer simply because she remembered the impact of that seed from years ago. What a reminder on how important it is to look beyond ourselves and be a blessing to others, cause when we really think about it; sometimes we think we have it bad when we really don’t! Philippians 2:3-4 3 do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.
