Whatever your wedding budget is, you don’t have to sacrifice your life savings as you get ready to walk down the aisle to the altar. I would like to share some tips that will help you prepare for a memorable wedding without sacrificing your money, time and sense of style for your big day.
1. 12 + Months
- Create your budget & stick to it. Leave a few dollars in an envelope for unexpected expenses.
- Envision your big day, including style, colors and theme and go from there.
- Select date and possible locations where you would like to get married.
- Hire a Wedding Planner if it’s in your budget.
- Begin to search for your dress.
- Insure your ring!
2. 9–11 Months
- Order & send out your “Save the date” invites
- Select your Wedding Party
- Begin to book your Florist, Photographer & Entertainment
- Purchase your dress
- Select Bridesmaids’ dresses
- Create a registry
3. 6-8 Months
- Get Pre-marital counseling
- Plan your ceremony details
- Order Invitations
- Book your Hair Stylist and Make Up Artist for the day
- Order Tuxedo’s / Suits for the Groomsmen
- Book your Venue
4. 4-5 Months
- Send out invitations
- Book your Honeymoon
- Order your Wedding Cake
- Arrange transportation for the Wedding Day
6. 3 Months
- Get your Marriage License
- Finalize Ceremony details with Officiant
- Treat yourself to a Spa
7. 2 Months
- Create and write down your Wedding Vows
- Get fitted for your dress
- Finalize Menu for the Reception
- Have your Wedding Planner create a timeline of the day and share it with all Vendors and Bridal Party
- Create a must-take Photo list for your Photographer
8. 1 Month
- Get a final head count for the Venue / Caterer
- Create a seating chart
- Get a final dress fitting
- Schedule all of your beauty appointments
- Plan your Dress Rehearsal
