Stay Committed
I would like to share this month a bit about being committed to God. Being committed to anyone or anything (church, project, marriage, job) requires sacrifices many times. When it comes to being committed to God, commitment means putting God first. Loving God more than anything or anyone else. Serving God wholeheartedly even when life, people and situations discourage us! God doesn’t come with a trial version, we’re either going to trust Him and persevere or we’re going to fail and disappoint ourselves and God. Someone once said we are full of desire to work but short of commitment. My hope is that we can remain committed to God even when those around us don’t. Commitment to God is key in our own personal walk and growth. It requires a prayer life, the study of His word, a worship lifestyle as well as checking our behavior at home and when go out. Our commitment to God should be reflected in our lifestyle and in our service to others. It means not quitting when life gets tough. It means doing the right thing regardless of the people that tell you not to. To be committed is to be strong in the face of adversity and not giving in to the pressures of life. I encourage you today to evaluate where you are in life right now and ask yourself whether you must make some adjustments and recommit some time to God.
1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourself fully to the work of the Lord because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
