New Beginnings
It’s probably been close to a year since my last post and a lot has happened since. I took time to concentrate my efforts as an Associate Pastor at my local church. I’m entering a new season in my life in which I am extremely excited about and wish to share it with you. I will be resuming the monthly newsletter to serve as an encouragement to you without it becoming burdensome. That’s why I’ll just send it out once a month. I will also post events from our area that would edify and encourage the body of Christ. If you have any events in the future, you would like me to share, feel free to forward it to me.
Devotional
I’ve recently come to the conclusion that some people come into our lives for a reason and a season. Sometimes, it’s difficult to let go because we’ve become comfortable in certain situations. There are things inside of us that must be dealt with before we can move ahead. Every experience we’ve had until this present moment has helped shape who we are, and that even includes our mistakes. The things that have happened to you, good and bad, are key in determining how you’ll act and react for the rest of your life. Paul in Philippians writes “forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead”. If the Apostle had not overcome his past, he would not have had the opportunity to write those letters we today read!
What am I saying today? Though we are not where we probably should be, we should be working on doing this one thing, forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead. The only power the past has over you is the one you give it.
You are a product of God’s forgiveness, so don’t judge yourself regarding your past. And don’t let anyone else judge you or remind you of your past. Those are the ones you must let go! Remember, no matter what we do or say sometimes, even when we’ve admitted our wrongs, some people will talk anyways!
Reflection: What are some of the things or people you are holding onto that you need to release and put in God’s hands?
I hope & pray this encourages you today!
