Nehemiah – Rebuilding the Walls of Life

I have been recently reading a series on the Nehemiah Project “Rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem” and I wanted to share a few things that have stood out to during the series. Nehemiah the Prophet when he inquired of the state of Jerusalem and was given the report of it’s condition (broken down) and the hardship the people were facing, he replied with prayer, weeping, confessing of sin and then taking action. He took action while counting on God’s favor, equipped himself for the task of rebuilding the walls, united the people and moved with purpose! He was faced with resistance, criticism and conflict during that time, nevertheless God gave him success during the process of rebuilding.

Many of us are in need of rebuilding our lives for the work of the Kingdom, we have been criticized, put down, let down by others, disappointed time after time with others and even with ourselves. Sometimes it seems we can’t get it right! I know because I’ve been down that path many a times where I’ve felt like it just can’t be done.

Then God in his perfect timing reminds us that we are worth fighting for! Just as Nehemiah fought because he knew that the rebuilding process was going to bring a nation back to God and bring restoration to His people. So too must we continue to fight, stand up, rebuild and trust God to complete what he has begun in our lives!

Expect resistance, criticism, hardship, backstabbing and the such, but never never never give up!!!! Lord I pray a prayer of peace and comfort to whomever is reading this right now!
