How many times have you said to yourself, I am not happy with the results of how things came out. I wish things would’ve come out differently. I am disappointed at myself. I am disappointed on who I have become, I am disappointed on what I’ve done; I am disappointed on what I’ve not done, etc. When we fail to meet our expectations or the expectations of others, there are many times a sense of disappointment that overtakes us. Unfortunately many times we do the things we do to fit in and to disguise who we really are and are called to be. This results in disappointment. When we do that, we not only disappoint ourselves but we also disappoint God. The wonderful news today is that despite the fact that not everything we do or plan will come out the way we want it to, it’s not the end, there is a work that God is doing in us and continues to do in us for as long as we allow him to. Our process will include disappointments, but whatever God has begun in your life, he will finish. So be encouraged, we live to try again tomorrow! Philippians 1:6 And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns!

The fight is real https://djwhoevents.com/the-fight-is-real/ Tue, 14 Mar 2017 19:23:21 +0000 http://djwhoevents.com/?p=3400 Read More]]> We all know that our actions are a direct result of our thoughts. If we have a negative mind, we will have a negative life. If we renew our minds according to God’s word, we will live out a life that is good and acceptable in God’s eyes.

Romans 8:5 (NASB) 5 For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.

There is a constant battle in our minds and many times it can bring us to a place of doubt, discouragement and even sometimes make us want to quit. (I know, I was recently there) It is necessary and important for you to understand that you have to go thru it! In other words, you can’t give up. Spiritual progress is being able to go thru the time of testing in our lives and not quit. It is easy for us to quit but God reminds you today that in due time, you will come to a place of blessing! God will not leave you, He will not forsake you, He will be with you!

Our process will take time! We will have to endure suffering in order to rejoice when the breakthrough comes! When we try to do something on our own, we fail and then realize that we must wait on him to do what we cannot do. Be encouraged, release the negativity and let God direct you in all you do!

Nehemiah – Rebuilding the Walls of Life https://djwhoevents.com/nehemiah-rebuilding-walls-life/ Tue, 28 Feb 2017 17:17:04 +0000 http://djwhoevents.com/?p=3389 Read More]]> I have been recently reading a series on the Nehemiah Project “Rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem” and I wanted to share a few things that have stood out to during the series. Nehemiah the Prophet when he inquired of the state of Jerusalem and was given the report of it’s condition (broken down) and the hardship the people were facing, he replied with prayer, weeping, confessing of sin and then taking action. He took action while counting on God’s favor, equipped himself for the task of rebuilding the walls, united the people and moved with purpose! He was faced with resistance, criticism and conflict during that time, nevertheless God gave him success during the process of rebuilding.

Many of us are in need of rebuilding our lives for the work of the Kingdom, we have been criticized, put down, let down by others, disappointed time after time with others and even with ourselves. Sometimes it seems we can’t get it right! I know because I’ve been down that path many a times where I’ve felt like it just can’t be done.

Then God in his perfect timing reminds us that we are worth fighting for! Just as Nehemiah fought because he knew that the rebuilding process was going to bring a nation back to God and bring restoration to His people. So too must we continue to fight, stand up, rebuild and trust God to complete what he has begun in our lives!

Expect resistance, criticism, hardship, backstabbing and the such, but never never never give up!!!! Lord I pray a prayer of peace and comfort to whomever is reading this right now!

Clean Water https://djwhoevents.com/clean-water/ Wed, 28 Dec 2016 06:23:14 +0000 http://djwhoevents.com/?p=3339 Read More]]> I hope you’ve had a blessed & joyful Christmas with the ones who matter most to you! I wanted to take a moment and share a word of encouragement as we begin to prepare for 2017. As many of us begin to resolute and take this time to reflect on where we’ve been, what we have gone thru this year and where we would like to see ourselves for 2017, I think it’s important to keep in mind what fruit we are giving during these times! I recently came across something that struck a cord with me and it said:

“You cannot get clean water from a dirty tank”.

Regardless of what season you’ve experienced this year I believe it’s important that we remain consistent with the fruits we bear. The fruit is solely dependent on wether we are living a life in the spirit, on how our faith walk is being walked regardless of what we are going thru! Mathew 15:18 says what comes out of the mouth comes from the heart, and those defile the man! If you’re bitter, angered, mad at the world, your spouse, God for what has been going on in your life, it will eventually reflect outwardly. If your heart is unclean as a result of these things, what you produce will then be “dirty”. So I encourage you to clean up your spiritual tank by allowing God some room for change!

I want to write more but it is said that people lose interest after the 1st 2 minutes … Lol
